Join the Kennedy Institute as a Research Assistant to explore cell-cell interactions in inflammation.

We are seeking a talented Research Assistant to join Jelena Bezbradica Mirkovic’s research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for in vivo work in a larger project exploring cell-cell interactions in inflammation.

In this role, you will contribute to project planning, including ideas for new research projects and determine the most appropriate methodologies to test hypotheses, and identify suitable alternatives if technical problems arise. You will manage your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by the senior postdoctoral colleague Madelon de Jong and PI Jelena Bezbradica Mirkovic. You will utilise our imaging and animal facilities and will be responsible for general laboratory management and administration.

You will hold a first degree in biological sciences together with specialist knowledge in immunology and must be working towards a doctorate in immunology (or other related field). You will have relevant experience working in an immunology laboratory, ideally with hands-on experience with animal models and will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities.
Previous experience contributing to articles for publication and experience in whole-tissue or in-cell imaging is desirable. It is preferrable that you hold a Masters degree in biomedical sciences (or other related field).
