Claire Pearson

Laboratory Manager & OCMS Experimental Lead

When not managing the lab my research focuses on a recently described rare population of cells called innate lymphoid cells or ILCs. Our lab has previously shown that ILCs accumulate in the intestines of Crohn’s disease patients, and that they secrete pro-inflammatory molecules such as IL-17. I am interested in the localization of ILCs within the gut and how such a small population could exert a relevant effect during disease by being concentrated in the right area. I am also interested in the cross-talk between ILCs and surrounding cell types, particularly stromal cells.
