- BMS-Oxford Research Fellow
Thomas studied Medicine at the University of Manchester graduating with distinction. His first introduction to research was during an intercalated BSc in Anatomical Sciences with a thesis entitled Investigating neuroendocrine markers of small cell lung cancer, which was awarded a Wolfson Foundation research scholarship.
Thomas then undertook his foundation training in Oxford and over this period completed a Oxford-Celgene research fellowship working towards a DPhil in Cell and Molecular Biology. This research utilised advanced single cell technologies including CyTOF and scRNA-seq to define key molecular and cellular pathways governing fibrosis in Dupuytren's disease.
Thomas is now an Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery registrar and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Nottingham, alongside a postdoctoral fellow in Oxford, undertaking research aiming to explore and uncover central regulators of human fibrosis.
