Isobel Davis

DPhil Student

I am a DPhil student in the Gérard Group, studying the function of a unique subset of T memory cells, known as virtual memory T cells, in the context of influenza infection. I joined the lab in April 2024 as part of my Doctoral Training Programme in Interdisciplinary Bioscience, funded by the BBSRC.

Prior to starting my DPhil, I completed an MSc in Integrated Immunology in Oxford and was based in Jan Rehwinkel’s lab for my research project, which investigated the function of and interactions between two Interferon-Stimulated Genes, which are induced downstream of the cGAS-STING pathway. I achieved my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bath, and as part of this I completed a year in industry at GSK, where I was based in the Immunology RU and was focussing on targeting inflammation in the context of rheumatoid arthritis.
