Trustees from the Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research joined staff and students at the Kennedy Institute for an afternoon of presentations followed by tea.

The annual afternoon tea is a great opportunity for staff and students to meet the Trustees and for the latter to find out about the wealth of research being carried out at the Kennedy Institute and engage with the researchers responsible for shaping the clinical care of the future.

The event included presentations from Dr Audrey Gerard, Dr Lilian Lam and DPhil student Valentina Gifford, covering a range of research from coordinating killer T cell responses during infection to the microbial drivers of inflammatory arthritis.

“We are very grateful for the Trust’s generous support, which has enabled us to recruit and retain an outstanding faculty, develop cutting-edge technology platforms and establish a highly-competitive DPhil training programme” said Director of the Kennedy Institute Professor Fiona Powrie. “The afternoon tea provides a forum to showcase some of the exciting research that is made possible through this support”.

The Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research are a major funder of the Kennedy Institute and provide sustainable, long-term funding of medical research into rheumatic and related musculoskeletal, immunological and inflammatory diseases.
