With responsibility for the Accounts Receivable function within the department the postholder will maintain accurate financial records and act as a point of contact, providing advice on financial procedures and policies.

This is a full time, permanent position. The post may also be offered as a secondment opportunity for 6-12 months.
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer (AR and Financial Accounting) to join the Finance Team at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS). The Finance Officer’s primary responsibility will be the Accounts Receivable function within the Department as well as a range of duties relating to Management Accounting.
The postholder will maintain accurate financial records and assist with monitoring GL transaction reports for errors, correcting them as needed to align with budgets, including reviewing monthly payroll reports for costing issues. They will oversee the processing of bursary payments and expense claims, verifying figures, identifying anomalies, and resolving issues proactively. They will also act as a point of contact, providing advice on financial procedures and policies, responding to enquiries in a timely manner.  
The postholder will hold   a degree or have equivalent relevant work experience. Strong IT skills, including experience in the use of the Office 365, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn new systems are essential. Understanding or experience of the University’s Oracle financial system is desirable.
