Histology service
The facility provides an all-inclusive and high throughput histopathology service including specimen dissection, processing, sectioning, staining and image analysis. We can provide this service for the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, other University of Oxford groups, other institutions in the UK and abroad, as well as private companies.
Equipment
With the same equipment as found in hospital histopathology labs, we carry out large-scale sectioning and staining projects with high quality and consistency.

We mainly perform tissue processing into paraffin blocks using a Sakura VIP 6 Processor that can run up to 300 samples simultaneously.

We have one Sakura SRM 200 microtome and two Leica RM2235 microtomes |
We perform high throughput histological stains using a Sakura DRS 2000 Stainer that can run different methods at the same time on up to 120 slides. We also have an automatic coverslipping machine Sakura G2 coverslipper |
