I am an Academic Clinical Lecturer and an Honorary Specialty Registrar in Rheumatology at the University of Oxford and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. I qualified in Medicine from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2014 and I then followed postgraduate studies (MSc) in Immunology at Imperial College London. I successfully completed a PhD in 2018 investigating type I interferon regulation in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus, supervised by Dr E. Vital and Prof P Emery at University of Leeds along with Prof G. Tsokos at Harvard Medical School.
After completing my Internal Medicine Training at King's College Hospital in London in 2022, I moved to the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (NDORMS) in Oxford, supported by the NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship scheme. My main clinical and research interest lies in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and immune regulation of rheumatic diseases. I am currently focusing on immune cell metabolism and complex immunological networks in preclinical autoimmunity and established SLE.
