Fibrosis across tissues in systemic sclerosis and across diseases
I am currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Rheumatology at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, and an honorary Rheumatology consultant at the Royal Free Hospital and Oxford University Hospitals. I have a primary research interest into fibrosis in Systemic sclerosis. I was awarded an MRC Clinical Training Fellowship in 2019, and carried out my PhD at UCL, within the Centre for Rheumatology and Connective Tissue Diseases, and at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. This project focused primarily on identifying fibroblast subsets in the skin of patients with systemic sclerosis, and how these differ based on stage and autoantibody subsets. I now aim to focus on fibrosis within the gastrointestinal system, a complication affecting over 90% of patients with systemic sclerosis
