- Kusumbe Group | Tissue and Tumor Microenvironments Research Group
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Bone and Vascular Biology
- In 2015, I graduated in the field of vascular biology, under the supervision of Prof. Suvro Chatterjee, Vascular Biology Laboratory, Department of Biotechnology, Anna University, India. My Ph.D. research focused on the role early vasculogenesis during embryonic and organ development. I completed my first postdoctoral studies in the field of bone angiogenesis at the bone biopathology laboratory, University of L’Aquila, Italy, I investigated the molecular pathways that couple angiogenesis and osteogenesis in mechanical unloading. I joined Dr.Anjali Kusumbe's tissue and tumor microenvironments group to study the role of blood vessel subtypes in bone metastases and tumor microenvironment. My research interest is to understand heterogeneity nature of endothelial cells in various pathological conditions in different organs to target/exploit them for tissue-specific therapy and interested in studying angiocrine, paracrine and autocrine signaling in and around the cardiovascular system in various pathophysiological conditions.
