Vimal Veeriah

Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Bone and Vascular Biology

  • My PhD focused on early vasculogenesis during embryonic and organ development. I completed my first postdoctoral studies in bone biopathology laboratory, headed by Prof. Anna Teti at the University of L’Aquila, Italy, investigated the molecular pathways that couple angiogenesis and osteogenesis in mechanical unloading. I joined Dr.Anjali Kusumbe's tissue and tumor microenvironments group to study the role of blood vessel subtypes in bone metastases and tumor microenvironment. My research interest is to understand heterogeneity nature of endothelial cells in various pathological conditions in different organs to target/exploit them for tissue specific therapy.
