After initially working in Computer Networking and Security, I completed a Master's degree in Bioinformatics with Systems Biology at Birkbeck, University of London. In 2015, I joined the Coles & Timmis Laboratories at the University of York where I began my PhD. I have since transferred to the University of Oxford with Prof. Coles, to complete a DPhil in Molecular and Cellular Medicine at The Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.
My research is focussed on employing computational and mathematical modelling techniques in order to explore the activation and generation of immune responses, to the vaccine adjuvant AS01; the immunostimulant designed to enhance the immune response to the antigens in the licensed Malaria (Mosquirix) and Herpes-Zoster (Shingrix) vaccines. In order to effectively design adjuvanted-vaccines, it is key to understand the mechanism of action of these immunostimulants. I work closely with the developers of AS01, GSK Vaccines, and I am supervised by Prof. Mark Coles (University of Oxford), and Prof. Jon Timmis, (PVC & Department of Electronic Engineering, University of York).
