Lada Koneva

PhD

Research Associate in Bioinformatics

My research interests include omics approaches to study diseases and environmental effects. I started off in population genetics and transitioned to working in bioinformatics and data analysis in cancer and environmental exposure research. In 2018 I joined the Computational Genomics group led by Dr. Stephen Sansom to explore single-cell approaches for understanding inflammatory diseases.

In 2013 I won Fulbright fellowship and worked in the Bioinformatics Core (University of Michigan, USA) studying the co-occurrence of bronchial asthma and pulmonary tuberculosis (Institute of Medical Genetics, Tomsk, Russia and University of Michigan). Since 2014 my postdoctoral work has included the computational analysis of the integration of human papillomavirus (HPV) into the host genome of head and neck cancer (HNC) patients using whole transcriptome data in the group of Prof. Maureen Sartor (University of Michigan). In 2017-2018 I worked on environmental exposure projects analysing transcriptomics, epigenomicssmall RNA-seq data with associated clinical information as Bioinformatics Analyst at the Michigan Centre on Lifestage Environmental Exposures and Disease (M-LEEaD, University of Michigan).
