Tenascin-C is an extracellular matrix protein which is overexpressed during inflammatory diseases such as malignant cancers. In metastatic breast cancer in particular, the expression of high levels of tenascin-C is associated with a dramatic decrease of the patient’s survival.
My project consists in using cell biology technics and tumour models to decipher how tenascin-C impacts the differentiation, the prognosis value and the polarization of the adaptive immune response within the microenvironment of primary and metastatic tumours.
