Aida Barawi

PhD student

Aida Barawi graduated from the University of Salamanca, Spain with a BSc, and MSc degrees in Biochemistry. She then worked as a research assistant at Oncostem Pharma, Spain where she was involved in the characterization of cancer stem cells. Later, she took on a research assistant role at the William Harvey Research Institute, where she studied cartilage regeneration pathways.

In 2018, Aida Barawi was awarded a UCB-funded PhD scholarship under the supervision of Dr Suzanne Eldridge and Prof Francesco Dell’Accio during which she is attempting to develop extracellular vesicles as a novel system for the targeted delivery of therapeutic molecules.
