Concept of a DNA strand and protein letters

Researchers at the Institute increasingly use computational processes to analyse high-resolution biological data on the genes, proteins, cells and microbes in tissues, in health and disease. Our data science-based research groups work together to provide expertise in, computational, statistical and machine-learning approaches to analyse rich experimental and clinical datasets. The application of data science across the Institute's research portfolio helps drive new insight into disease pathogenesis, as well as identification of biomarkers that predict disease outcomes and response to therapy. Research in this area is supported by an in-house single cell genomics facility, as well as state-of-the-art research computing and dedicated infrastructure to manage, curate and mine patient data.
