Adrien is a Group Leader in Tissue Biology at the Kennedy Institute and has recently established an interdisciplinary research group working on the biological and physical mechanisms that regulate stem cell renewal and differentiation in epithelia, with a particular focus on skin and skin inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis.
The Franco-British Young Leaders Programme was first announced at the 2016 Franco-British Summit by former President, François Hollande, and former Prime Minister, David Cameron. It was launched in 2017 by The Prince and Princess of Wales (then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), and this latest cohort joins an alumni network of 156 Young Leaders who come from distinguished careers across a diversity of sectors ranging from politicians, journalists, scientists, the military and academics to business entrepreneurs, a chef, a pianist, an art critic and an explorer.
Adrien said: 'It is an honour and a privilege to be selected for the programme, especially this year as we celebrate the 120th anniversary of the 'Entente Cordiale'. I'm looking forward to meeting other members of my cohort, as well as alumni, and helping to build strong bilateral relationships that will foster cross-channel dialogue, new ideas and connections as we face the challenges of a rapidly changing and globalised world.
'Born and raised in France, I have spent the last decade studying and working in the UK, first in Cambridge as a graduate student and postdoctoral researcher, and now in Oxford where I lead my own research group. I would like to use this unique experience to contribute to the discussions on science, technology and governance, and to bring to the debate my expertise as a scientist working at the interface between the physical and life sciences.

This opportunity will allow Adrien to contribute his expertise on important issues at the interface of science, policy, and international cooperation.'
The Franco-British Young Leaders Programme aims to deepen understanding and collaboration between France and the UK and create lasting bilateral dialogue at the highest level. Its objective is to build a generation of 21st century leaders who will keep the Franco-British relations at heart and shape its future across all sectors of societies and economies.
It is delivered by the Franco-British Council with the support of the French Foreign Ministry and the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, as well as a number of private sponsors.
