Sara Caxaria

Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr Sara Caxaria graduated at FCT Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Molecular and Cellular Biology, followed by MSc at Imperial College London in Human Molecular Genetics. Her PhD at UCL focused on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their differentiation toward hepatic lineage. Since then, Dr Caxaria has worked at Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London on regenerative medicine with the aim of translating her research for patients’ benefit.

Having previously worked on cartilage regeneration using chemokine signalling, Dr Caxaria’s research is currently focused on neuro-immune interactions in the context of chronic pain development in musculoskeletal disorders.
